Ashlee Simpson may have found her rebound man — who just happens to be a friend of Pete Wentz, her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Photos at E! News show Simpson, 25, shopping in L.A. with rocker Craig Owens, who holds her close with his arm around her shoulders.

(Last month, the singer-actress filed for divorce from Fall Out Boy’s Wentz, 31, after nearly two years of marriage.)

According to E!, singer-songwriter Owens, 26, is the former frontman for the punk group Chiodos, and is now signed to Wentz’ s record label, Decaydance. This summer, Owens will tour with a new group Wentz helped organize, D.R.U.G.S. (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows).

Back in January 2010, Wentz even gushed to MTV News that Owens was his favorite new artist.

So what does Wentz think of his protege’s new potential romance with his future ex-wife?

“Pete did a lot for this guy,” a Wentz source tells UsMagazine.com. “Craig was in another band and got kicked out. Pete found Craig, built a band around him and signed him. He’s shocked at how this guy is repaying him.”

Counters a source close to Simpson: “Ashlee and Craig are longtime friends. They have spent some time together, and he is comforting her throughout this difficult time.”

Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake SPLIT!

Cry him a river!

After four years together, on-again/off-again couple Justin Timberlake, 30, and Jessica Biel, 29, have broken up.

In a joint statement, reps for the couple confirm to Usmagazine.com, “Addressing the media speculation regarding Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake’s relationship, we are confirming that they mutually have decided to part ways. The two remain friends and continue to hold the highest level of love and respect for each other.”

“It was mutual,” says an insider. “Jessica is doing well.”

The pair began dating in January 2007 and were often the subject of split rumors.

Last year, Biel told Vogue of her relationship, “It’s the most precious thing that I have in my life, and I care so much about it that I don’t care about what anyone else says or thinks.”

Amanda Seyfried and Ryan Phillippe Officially Split

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

After three months of dating, Amanda Seyfried, 25, and Ryan Phillippe, 36, have called an end to their three-month romance.

“They are not dating anymore,” a source reveals to UsMagazine.com. “And it’s not a big deal for either of them.”

That seemed clear on Saturday when Phillippe hit on Rihanna, 22, at the Gucci/Roc Nation brunch at L.A.’s Soho House.

“He said something to the effect of, ‘What are you doing tonight?’” a witness tells the new issue of Us Weekly.

Pete Wentz Couldn’t Trust Ashlee Simpson

When the going gets tough, the tough go partying — at least Ashlee Simpson does.

Although their Feb. 9 divorce announcement took many by surprise, pals close to Simpson and husband Pete Wentz tell the new Us Weekly that the spouses of nearly three years “have been talking about splitting up forever.”

Simpson, 26, had coped in part with the impending split by having some late, late-night fun. “Ashlee has been out late partying for the past few months,” says one insider. Specifically, the singer-actress — and mom to son Bronx, 2 — hangs with a crew of pro skateboarders in San Clemente, Calif., and returns home at sunrise.

“She would lose track of time,” the insider says.

Fall Out Boy rocker Wentz, 31, “started getting burnt out” by those antics, another source says. On the road with his band, he “would constantly check in on Ashlee, and he’d have his friends call the house and her cell to make sure she said she was where she said she was going to be,” an insider explains. “He felt like he couldn’t trust her.”

Mario Lopez Admits Cheating

Back in April 2004, longtime loves Mario Lopez and model/actress Ali Landry tied the knot — only to annul the union two weeks later, amid rumors of Lopez’s rampant cheating.

Now, almost seven years later, Lopez fessed up to at least one major indiscretion that took place during a wild bachelor party weekend in Mexico.

Lopez, 37, spilled the beans to Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show on Thursday. “It was my bachelor party,” the Extra host admitted, explaining that he had been “bouncing around” Mexico with his cousins. “I had no business of being in that position,” he said, offering that he “messed around” with another woman.

He elaborated a bit on the fling. “It was spring break….everybody was hanging out. That was a situation where I was not mature and man enough.”

Before heading out for his big weekend, Lopez didn’t tell then-fiancee Landry the whole truth. “I said I was going to Cabo…to go marlin fishing,” he explained. “Then my cousin surprised me and said ‘No, …we’re going on this whirlwind tour: Cabo, Acapulco, all these places.’”

Rather than telling Landry about the change of plans, “I figured at that point it was easier to ask for forgiveness [afterward]. It’s my bachelor party, we were going to have a good time. And we went, we had a good time.”

Lopez was caught in an incriminating poolside shot with another woman. “We’re partying, and somebody took a picture,” he explained. Landry’s sister eventually got a hold of that photo and shared it with her.

“I was wrong for obviously lying, and I shouldn’t have been in that position,” Lopez said.

Finally, Landry confronted him. “I dealt with all this drama, and then at that point just realize…I finally got the balls to say ‘Hey, listen I’m not ready for this, I’m sorry.’”

“At that point,” the star confessed, “I was not ready to settle down. I wasn’t man enough to know how to go about handling it. ”

Why did Lopez marry her in the first place, then? “I think when you go out for a few years you either take it to another level or you break up, right?” he said of Landry, whom he had been dating for six years. “There was nothing glaringly wrong on paper: I thought, ‘She’s beautiful, she’s a good girl, she comes from a great family, she’d make a great mom…I confused cold feet with not being ready.”

Older and wiser, Lopez is more settled down these days with Courtney Mazza, his girlfriend of over two years; they welcomed daughter Gia in September.

“It worked out well,” he said. “Thank god, because I got a great girl now.”

Jaime Pressly Opens Up About Her Divorce and DUI Case

jaime-pressly-240

It’s been a rough patch for Jaime Pressly.

The former My Name Is Earl actress, 33, was not only recently arrested on suspicion of DUI, but she’s also headed for divorce from entertainment lawyer Simran Singh.

“People [are] thinking my divorce is happening because of the [DUI] situation,” she tells Extra. “Truth is: These are all isolated incidents.”

Pressly, who admits she is “human and never claimed to be perfect,” wants to set the record straight on “ridiculously unkind and untrue” allegations so she can protect her child Desi, 3, whom she had with ex, Eric Cubiche.

“I don’t ever want my son to grow up and read all these false statements,” she says, adding that she and Singh “fell in love quickly. We got married very quickly. It didn’t work out the way we wanted to. There’s nothing more to it.”

Ashley Simpson & Pete Wentz Call it Quits!

Seven months after a PDA-filled night in New York, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz step out as a couple on April 30, 2007 to host an opening-night bash at Wentz’s new Big Apple lounge, Angels & Kings. “I think the first day that we met that we were attracted to each other,” Simpson tells PEOPLE. But the attraction ends four years later, when Simpson, 26, files for divorce from her longtime love, 31.

Scarlett Johansson, Ryan Reynolds Split

After more than two years, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have decided to end their marriage, a source close to the couple tells the new Us Weekly, out Wednesday.

“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”

“They are being very civil about it,” the source tells Us of the pair, noting that the spouses separated about two weeks ago.

Johannson, 26, began dating Reynolds, 34, in 2007; the stars announced their engagement in May 2008 and tied the knot that September in a remote wilderness retreat in Vancouver, B.C.

The source explains that Iron Man 2 star Johansson initiated the split. At issue? “The big problem with their relationship is the distance,” says the source. “They spent a lot of time apart when they are working…She’s been unhappy for a while.”

Johansson told Glamour last year that she’s no expert on relationships. “I don’t profess to know anything about marriage that anybody else doesn’t know, or how to make it right,” she told the mag.

Green Lantern star Reynolds, meanwhile, admitted in the October issue of GQ that things had “changed” since they got married. “I’m a little more guarded, I think. I’m a little bit more wary of having my relationship turning into a soap opera.”

Still, he gushed at the time that marriage was the “best part” of his life.

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens Split

The king and queen of High School Musical are going their separate ways.

After more than three years together, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have split.

“It was mutual,” the source explains. “They have been together for so long. It just ran its course.”

And, the insider insists, “They are still talking and still friends. There’s no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up.”

Efron, 23, and Hudgens, 21, met in 2005 while making the first High School Musical flick, and became a romantic item about two years later.

“Right off the bat, we had a connection,” Hudgens told Glamour magazine earlier this year. “I think everybody could see it. When we had our audition, they paired us together. And he was adorable.”

“I think that we inspire each other,” she added. “[I love] having someone to grow with.

Efron admitted to Details‘ September issue that he had pondered the single life. “Everyone tells me [to play the field],” he said. “I think a lot of guys would enjoy that. But I’m not really like that.”

He shot down claims that their romance was an elaborate publicity stunt. “That’s just [expletive] insane… It would have been so much easier to call it off a long time ago.”
